Vickie Yearwood, MS, Applied Psychology
Training Coordinator
My name is Vickie Yearwood. I have worked in the mental health field for more than 20 years as a licensed professional counselor, a university professor, a continued education trainer, and a Therapeutic Foster Care administrator. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology, a minor in Business Administration and a minor in Criminal Justice in 1995. I began teaching both undergraduate and graduate classes at Southwestern Oklahoma State University the semester following my graduation. I began my career as a counselor by serving teenagers who were involved in the Juvenile Justice System and their families. I served as the director of the Community Intervention Center in Clinton, OK for three years and then moved to Northwestern Oklahoma to work as a Therapeutic Foster Care District Supervisor. After my move to Oklahoma City and my continued career movement in the direction of the treatment of abused and neglected children in the foster care system, I continued to teach as an adjunct professor at SWOSU for three years. As I moved more into the administrative realm of mental health work, I became certified as a Behavior Crisis Management Trainer, Guiding Principles Trainer for families wishing to become therapeutic foster parents, and continued education training for existing foster parents. With Share More CTC, I provide continued education training, case consultation, and administrative coordination of services. I find my work with Share More CTC to be particularly fulfilling in that we have great passion for providing other professionals and individuals who work with children and families realistic and innovative strategies and information to improve the quality of life for those they serve.
